The Walled Garden

The Walled Garden

Find yourself a quiet place to sit and a comfortable chair. Make sure you have turned off all phones and no one can bother you for the next half an hour. This is your time and your space. If you are indoors, you may want to light a candle and look into the flame – relaxing as you do so. If you are outside, you may want to close your eyes and listen to the birds singing in the distance, or the hum of the insects as they busy themselves amongst the flowers, or simply breathe in the beautiful aroma of the flowers and trees. Life is good – relax. Feel the muscles in your face and neck – how tense they are and make an effort to relax them – just let them loosen up and feel good. Do this now. Then work on the muscles in your neck and shoulders. These too are very tight and tense and you need to let them relax and loosen up.

Do this now…..just let them go - relax them. After a while, work with the muscles in your arms and hands – feel how tight and tense they are. Now relax them – all the way down from the top of your arms to your hands. Let them loosen up. Do this now. Then do the same with the muscles in your chest, back and stomach – they are so tense, but you are in control of them and now let them loosen up and relax – all the way from your chest, through to your back and down to the bottom of your stomach…..Do this now – this may take a little longer but don’t worry – just take your time and loosen all those muscles - feeling more relaxed all the time. Now your legs, your thighs, your knees, your calves and your feet. Just let go of all those knotty muscles there and relax them – right the way through from your thighs down to your toes. Do this now - loosening up all the muscles in your body. You are now feeling very happy and relaxed and ready to go into meditation. If you feel the need, ask your Guides and Angels to protect you and work with you.

You are standing in the middle of a beautiful garden which is quite large and is surrounded by a very old wall. The old wall is beautiful and you can feel the warmth coming from it. It has seen many things in its time, but now it is in a good place and it is home to many creatures and climbing plants, which all live happily together. There are roses in different beds in the garden and their beautiful colours lift your energy – their perfume drifts along in the breeze and you take a deep breath and feel the good energy. Everything here is beautiful – the garden is well kept and many old fashioned flowers bloom in profusion at the back of the borders. There is a raised pond which is cleverly constructed with old brick and blends in with the garden well. Water lilies float easily on top and fish slowly and gracefully move around as if they are content with their lives. Dragonflies and Damsel flies flit busily above the pond – time is short for them and they have to make the most of this

time in the sun. The sun is warm and pleasant and the breeze is gentle - you are feeling good. You sit on a seat in the garden beside one of the old walls and watch as a little wren works its way up the ivy on the wall. It is so small and gentle. It finds a space that is right for it and begins to sing – that beautiful song – almost as if it is singing especially for you. There are many birds here who find comfort and safety in this place, as you do.

You wander along and come across a small arched seat with honeysuckle growing over it. The sun is shining on this seat and the wood is warm – it’s inviting you to sit there. You’re happy to do so and you sit down in comfort in the sun, amongst all the flowers and trees, and birds and small insects and you know all is right with the World. Your Guide comes forward to sit beside you – you can feel the energy next to you.

I am going to leave you here with your Guide for a few minutes and then I will call you back. Your Guide is here to speak to you, to help you and to teach you. Listen and learn………………………………………………………………………

Now it’s time to return. Although you’re sorry to leave your Guide and this beautiful place, you know you can come back here any time to meet up again. You thank you Guide for coming to meet you and wish him or her a safe journey back to the realms of spirit. You will always be watched over and cared for by your Guide no matter what you have to go through. Try to remember all that you have learnt today.

You walk slowly through the garden, past the roses and all the other flowers growing in profusion, past the pond and the life that is going on there, touching the old bricks on the wall as you go out through the big wooden door that acts as entrance and exit to this special place.

Now you’re back in your room or your garden. Begin to move your hands and feet bringing yourself back to reality, then your legs and arms and move your body. Take a drink of water if you have one there or just sit for a few minutes, taking deep breaths, until you know that you are grounded and back. In a while, do something normal in your day – put the kettle on, make a drink, do that washing up, prepare a meal etc. All these things will bring you back to normality.

This meditation will help you to relax and talk to your Guide whenever you feel the need. It’s good to do this daily, if you can, but it’s not always possible, so don’t worry – just do it when you can. You will come back feeling peaceful and energised. Meditation is a means of helping yourself throughout your life. Once you have mastered the art, you will never regret it.

The Healing Beach

You are lounging comfortably on the sun bed on a beautiful clean clear beach in the Mediterranean.   All around you there is warm sunshine, wrapping its healing strength around you and a wonderful gentle breeze blows constantly, refreshing the air and filling you with renewed energy and invigorating you.   You breathe it in gently and enjoy it - then let it go………….and then, when you want to, gently breathe it in again, - fresh sea air which heals and heartens you and you feel good.

Ahead of you the sea, gently rolls up on the beach, making a pleasant slapping sound as it lazily rolls onto the white sand.   There’s nothing hurried here, nothing to worry about.  The sky is wonderful – a beautiful clear blue sky with just a few fleecy clouds which drift by slowly, disintegrating in the air as they go off into the distance.   The sun is warm and welcoming – feel its healing rays penetrate into your skin, releasing all those tense muscles and allowing you to relax………..relax right down……. letting go of all the worry and stress and tension.

Take your time to enjoy this special time…..your time to relax on the beach - you can go back here any time you want to……….this is your special place.

You put your hand over the side of the sun bed and push your fingers into the fine sand.   The shade from the bed has kept it cool and as you push your hand gently into the soft soothing sand, you can feel the coolness there.  You pick up a handful of sand and let it slip through your fingers gently….in the same way that you are now letting your cares and worries and tension just slip through your fingers.    Do this several times – enjoying the gentle trickling of the sand through your fingers – it feels like silk flowing through your hand – gentle, undemanding, soft and light………… until you have had enough of it.

Someone comes along and gently raises the back of your bed, so you are propped up higher and able to see further.   It’s comfortable and you are more aware of the sea breeze as it reaches you and fills you with good clean sea air.  You breathe in this gentle clean breeze and breathe out all the negativity…….do it slowly -  there is absolutely no rush.    Just slowly and gently breathe in the fresh sea breeze as much as you want - and as you breathe out, breathe out negativity.        You are feeling refreshed and relaxed and happy.   You put your head back against the bed and rest it on the soft fluffy towel which has been placed there for you.   You close your eyes and drink in the sounds and the feelings and the sheer bliss of this place.     You can hear children playing quietly in the distance with their parents, some paddling gently on the sea shore.   A couple of sea birds float overhead, gently using the sea breeze to make their way, not having to use any energy at all, as they enjoy the pleasure of flying free.    Behind you, far in the distance, there are the sounds of every day life carrying on as usual – people going about their daily work and play – things to do, places to go.    You don’t have to worry about this at all.   This is your time to relax and let the world slip by – your special time to just unwind and let in the sun and the sand and that beautiful healing sea breeze.     Stay here for a long as you wish.   This is your Place of Healing.

MEDITATION FOR THE SPRING.

Bluebell Wood Ultra HI-Res

Switch off the phones and the doorbell, put on some loose comfortable clothing and sit in your favourite chair. Make sure you have a glass of water beside you and a note pad and pencil.  If you feel better doing so, light a candle and sit quietly taking in the restful energy around you.     Breathe deeply and calmly.    Breathe in white light and breathe out negativity.   Do this several times…....breathe in white light and breathe out negativity.   You are beginning to feel yourself becoming “centred”.   If you feel that it’s right for you now, say a short prayer of protection or the Lord’s Prayer - the best protection of all.    Loosen all your muscles one by one, from your feet up through your legs and thighs, through your stomach, back and chest, your arms, neck, shoulders and head.    Relax and know that you are being watched over and cared for.    Now expand your aura   -  the light and energy that surrounds your body – make it larger and larger and expand it to fill the room, then right out of the room, right out into nature, right out into the Universe………………………

I want you to imagine that you’re walking along the edge of a field towards a small wood just ahead of you.    The sun is out and the air is bright and fresh….it’s neither too hot nor too cold….and everywhere is very very peaceful.  Just stop for a moment and take in the fresh air and the peace and quiet.   You feel wonderful.   It invigorates you and relaxes you at the same time.   Remember that feeling.

You make your way further along the path and enter the wood – it’s not dark – the sunlight plays with the leaves and casts playful shadows through the trees.   You can smell the damp earth and through the dappled sunlight you can see a haze of blue in the distance.  The most beautiful perfume of bluebells reaches you.  Stop right there and take it in – drink in that beautiful aroma and wonder at the sheer beauty of the healing blue haze around you.  You walk slowly further into the wood, feeling the twigs breaking under your feet and the softness of the leaf mould and moss as you make your way along.

You come to the centre of the wood.    All around you are hundreds and thousands of bluebells, bobbing their heads in the gentle breeze, wafting that beautiful scent around you.  The sight and smell almost takes your breath away and you wonder at the beauty of it all.   Breathe in that incredible healing energy and know that it helps you.

Bluebell Wood Ultra HI-Res

Ahead of you is a large log – part of an old tree which has fallen and settled in the middle of the wood.    You find you can sit against it comfortably and you rest your back against one of its strong branches.   Even though this tree has fallen, it still has a lot of energy and you feel this reaching you as you sit there amongst the bluebells and the woodland creatures and birds, which are going about their daily business, unaware of you sitting there.

Old fallen tree

A little robin comes close to peck at some loose soil where you have trodden and looks right up at you – into your eyes.  You know he is aware of your thoughts and you of his, and he tells you all is well.

Further away you see beetles and ants scurrying busily along – making the most of the time they have to gather food and nesting bits.   You marvel at their energy – such small creatures and yet united in their energy and intent.   You wonder why humans seem unable to work in the same way.

Whilst you’re sitting there watching the wood and all the activity within it, you feel yourself daydreaming and in this contented state, you ask your Guide to come forward and sit with you for a while and perhaps give you some information or a message from the spirit world.

I’ll leave you here for a short while to sit with your Guide and absorb the loving energy and all that is given to you.     Know that this is your special place and somewhere you can come to at any time to meet your Guide and get help and encouragement and love in abundance.

…………………………………

Now it’s time to make your way back.    You thank your Guide for all the knowledge and help that has been given to you and know you will meet again very shortly and that he or she is always with you, looking out for you, loving you and guarding and guiding you.

You get up from the seat against the tree and turn to make your way back up the pathway through the wood.    You feel so contented and secure in the knowledge that your Guide is always there for you when needed.    You breathe in deeply, getting the life back into your body after the dreamy state you have been in.   You touch the old tree and thank it for the energy, running your hands along the rough old bark and knowing its strength within.     Now you walk along the pathway through the wood, retracing your steps.    Here and there birds flit from tree to tree, making sure you are safely on the way back home.    You find the path at the edge of the field and the bright sunlight greets you again.    As you walk, you feel you are energised and invigorated.    You know this is a place you can return to at any time.

Now bring yourself slowly back to your room and your comfortable chair.   Start to feel your fingers and toes “coming back to life”,  gently move your arms and legs and take a deep breath………..and another……….and another.    Take a sip or two of water…….welcome back.  Snuff out the candle if you had one alight.   Remain in your chair for a few more minutes until you are ready to get up and go.   If you have paper and pencil near you, remember to write down all the information you were given and who and what you saw.   Put the date on this paper and keep it safely so that you can see, at a later date, how your spiritual knowledge has grown day by day.
